Abby grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina with aspirations to be a lawyer. After teaching for Student U in Durham, North Carolina, in the summer of 2014, Abby knew she wanted to teach in the public schools of Durham. Abby's first choice in her pathway to becoming an educator was always Duke's MAT program because of the Durham Teaching Fellowship and the work they do within the Durham community.
This inquiry project focuses on the use of music in the traditional classroom, and the ways music can enhance student learning of core subjects.
