About Me

Nan was born in Nebraska, but has spent the last sixteen years in and around Carrboro, North Carolina. Nan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May and is now a Durham Teaching Fellow and candidate for a Master of Arts in Teaching at Duke University. As a teacher, Nan taught creative writing, logical reasoning, and ethics at schools, prisons, and retirement centers. As a professional storyteller, Nan performed at schools, festivals, and slams. Nan is also an advocate for the rights for survivors of sexual violence and the creation of safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth.
