Duke Service-Learning, a signature initiative of Trinity College of Arts & Sciences and administered by the Program in Education, supports more than 65 service-learning courses at Duke, offered in 36 departments. In each of these courses, faculty members and community organizations collaborate to offer students service opportunities linked with academic course content. Service can consist of direct interaction, organizational capacity building, research, activism, and advocacy within Duke, Durham, and local and national communities. Through structured reflection and analysis, students integrate their service experiences with classroom learning.
We are also home to the International Center for Service-Learning in Teacher Education (ICSLTE).
