From the very beginning... I knew why I wanted to become a teacher: to advocate for college accessibility, classroom representation, and social equity.
Jessica Jara was Duke TeachHouse Resident fellow from 2017 to 2018 and currently teaches at a Multiple-Subject Dual-Language Immersion school in California. She graduated from Duke's Elementary Teacher Preparation Program in 2018 after completing her Bachelor's the previous year.
