Finding, Supporting and Keeping: The Role of the Principal in Teacher Retention Issues

Selected as the article of the month (July 2015) by the Regional Educational Laboratory Southeast and the School Leadership in North Carolina Research Alliance this article examines the leadership of school principals with low teacher turnover rates. Grounded in literature related to recruitment and retention of effective teachers, the authors conducted a qualitative inquiry to determine how principals decrease teacher turnover rates.
