Daniel Miller has been teaching for eight years in Durham Public Schools.  He began his career teaching only English Language Arts, and because of the support of Duke University and Jordan High School has begun one of the only Russian language programs for high schoolers in the state of North Carolina.  Daniel has been Jordan High School’s swimming coach for the past three years, and has advised the Gay-Straight alliance, the Jewish Awareness Club, and SLAVA Honor Society.  Daniel has been an MAT mentor teacher for two years.

Awards & Accolades

In 2014, Daniel was selected as Jordan High School’s Teacher of the Year and also as a finalist for Teacher of the Year in Durham Public Schools.  That summer, Daniel studied at Moscow State University in its prestigious Philology Department on a Fulbrlight-Hayes Grant for secondary and post-secondary teachers of Russian language.
