Why did you decide to be a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher because of how vital teachers are in helping children grow as people, as learners, and as informed and passionate citizens of the world. Teachers ensure that children receive equitable education with accommodations and resources for all. Teachers help students grow socially and emotionally, teaching them how to navigate their own problems and feelings as well as how to help others when they are struggling. Teachers help children find what they are passionate about and encourage students to be curious and learn about the world around them. Teachers encourage students to think about their own potential impact and encourage children to use their voices to make change. Teachers are there for their students - and that is exactly what I am passionate about: helping children grow!
