Fellow Profile: Scott Ellis

About Scott:

Elementary School Teacher

Having taught [over] ten years now, I can say without reservation that teaching is one of the best decisions I've made in my life. [Several] years ago, I had the opportunity to be a Duke TeachHouse fellow and mentor with the inaugural TeachHouse cohort. Passionate about mentorship, I remembered how crucial those early years of teaching were in establishing positive, reflective teaching practices, and I was eager to contribute however I could! As a living and learning community, we, the TeachHouse fellows, have thought deeply about our practice, always striving to grow.

Scott Ellis is a Duke TeachHouse inaugural fellow, alumnus, and current elementary school teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from Duke with a B.A. in Psychology in 1993 and later from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is from Statesville, North Carolina.
