- Shannon Potter awarded Beginning Teacher of the Year at Jordan, selected as a district finalist for Durham Public Schools Beginning Teacher of the Year (High School Division), and named the 2017 Durham Public Schools Beginning Teacher of the Year (High School Division)
- Ashley Pollard awarded Beginning Teacher of the Year at Pearsontown Elementary School and selected as a district finalist for 2017 Durham Public Schools Beginning Teacher of the Year (Elementary School Division)
- Mary Margaret Mills received the Hollyhock Fellowship from Stanford University, Gilder Lehrman Fellowship on Colonial American, and three National Endowment for Humanities Fellowships
