This national partnership between The International Center for Service-Learning in Teacher Education (ICSLTE), housed in the Program in Education at Duke University, and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) provides diverse and adaptable models for preparing pre-service teachers to implement high quality service-learning practice and promotes service-learning as a practice leading to accreditation of teacher preparation programs. A goal of the project is to increase the number of teachers in K-12 schools who are prepared to use service-learning to improve academic outcomes, reduce the achievement gap, and address dropout prevention through integration of service-learning.
